Dear Friend,

Here's some further thoughts of mine on increasing your health, Wealth and Relationships.

How about removing alcohol from your life? Totally?

Incorporate Bananas into your late evening diet.Sounds crazy I know but please try it.

For the purpose of increasing your wellbeing? And so ALL the other components of your life?

If so, you are now ready.

Ready to create BIG results in your health, Wealth and Relationships.

Be true to yourself.

If you have not removed alcohol from your life, you are not ready to create BIG results.

It must be gone and gone for at least 10 days.

I will just continue with trust that you have removed it now...

Thoughts of results, bring those results to you.

But how do we decide whether or not we are thinking of the right results?

What exactly should we think about?

I will explain...

A result is the real world evidence we need to see in order for us to KNOW we have acheived something.

"I'll believe it when I see it" is a common saying.

"I'll KNOW it when I see it" is more accurate.

Note the word "See".

In order to get a specific result, we first need to figure out what evidence we need to see in order for us to KNOW we have acheived it.

Next we need to decide if we are increasing a previous result or creating a new result.

To create a new result, we should ALWAYS aim low so that it seems extremely easy.

Then, when you get that result, we have a previous result we can increase.

Previous results are extremely easy to increase.

Doubling a previous result is a good challenge.

But at first, try to increase by a smaller amount.

Just to get your feet wet.

You will soon get to a point where doubling get's nearly impossible.

At this point, make the result you seek go up a level.

Work out what EFFECT your results are having, make those effects into the results that you then double.

So for example, a property developer makes a profit on one house of £5000.

He then thinks about making a profit of £10,000 on the next house.

So he makes £10,000 on the next house.

And so on.

But he can only go so far with profits on one house.

So THEN he works out the EFFECT these results are having on his NET WORTH.

And so he now makes his NET WORTH the results he seeks and doubles that instead of the profits from one house.

Health, wealth and relationships ALL have these different levels.

It's about getting an easy result, doubling those results, looking at the effects of those results, making those effects your new sought after results, and repeating.

When a newly sought after result begins to get too difficult, look for the effects and make those effects your new results.

You will see these new results in time.

For now, you must select either a new easy result or a doubled previous result for

Health - If a new result, this could be to get a little fitter. If so, go swim 5 lengths of a swimming pool. When you've done that, go a few days leter and swim 10. When you get to the point where it is getting too difficult to double, look at the effects. The effects may be that your weight is coming down. So now make that effect into your new sought after results. Try to lose a 1lb. Then 2lb. When you get to your ideal weight, look for the effects and repeat.

Wealth - If a new result, this could be to make £1 profit. Then £2. Then £4. Then £8. etc. When you get to the point where it is getting too difficult to double, look at the effects. The effects may be that your net worth is going up (but not doubling yet). So now make that effect into your new sought after results. Try to double your net worth. Then again and again.

Relationships - If a new result, this could be to get more friends. If so, go make friends with someone new. Then make friends with 2 more people. 4 more. When you get to the point where it is getting too difficult to double, look at the effects. The effects may be that you recently had a gathering of your new friends. So now make that effect into your new sought after results. Have another gathering. Organise other gatherings. Then look for the effects and repeat.

Start as small as possible.

Work out what evidence you will need to see.

Imagine you already have this evidence.

Think about the steps.

Double as much as possible.

Look for the effects.

Make the effects the new result you seek.

And if/when you want, stop doubling and maintain things.

Exercise 10: Napping Your Life

Did you do exercise number 9?

Night, night?

The exercise was to ask yourself "What would it be like..." and "What would it feel like..." just before going to sleep.

So that the answers to those questions come to you as you sleep (and create your dreams).

So you gradually make those things happen in your life.

We become what we consistently and persistently think about.

This next exercise is exactly the same except you do it as you nap and awakening from napping, in the privacy of your own mind (say it in your head)

"What would it be like to have [your next desired results]?"

"What would it feel like to have [that result]?"

Ask each question 10 times over and over in your head as you nap and awaken.

The answers will come in the form of thoughts.

Those thoughts will make you sleep muchy better and also create your dreams.

You will then attract those results to you.

Let’s try something different. Perhaps a collective effort of some sort. I want to know what you think is the best way to make money online. What really works well to bring in a substantial amount of income (at least in your own experience).

There are a great variety of ways to make money on the internet. Sometimes far too much than is really necessary.

A serious beginner needs to wade through an incredible amount of information before he/she knows what works and what doesn’t.

Then again, everyone has a different threshold and level of knowledge. How far do you want to go, in order to make money online? What do you know about the different ways of doing so? What have you personally tried?

That’s also why its fun and educational to learn from people with different experiences and backgrounds. So instead of just hearing from me on this topic, I’ll open this up to everyone who reads Dosh Dosh by doing a group meme or survey.
Survey Topic: What’s the Best Way to Make Money Online?

If someone came up to you and said that they wanted to know the best way to make money on the internet. What would you tell him or her?
Let’s imagine that the individual in question is eager and willing to learn what is needed for real results.

By best, I mean the method that brings the greatest amount of potential income, while being practical, cost-effective and do-able. I know a great deal depends on the individual skill levels and interest, so it can be quite difficult to provide a fix-all solution that is suitable for everyone.

I would suggest focusing on what you personally think, feel or know is the best way to earn money online. Elaborate a little on the general steps you think someone should take to successfully utilize the method you’ve suggested. Imagine you’re talking to a friend who trusts your opinion and experiences.
Reasons Why I’m Doing This Group Survey

There are several reasons why I am doing this exercise. First of all, I am curious about what you all think about the topic matter. Not everyone reading Dosh Dosh is a blogger and many are entrepreneurs, small business owners and marketers, so the response should be interesting and useful.

Secondly, this is a good way to give some exposure for everyone. Many of you have been leaving comments regularly, visiting the site daily or promoting it on social media websites. Some have also been subscribed to Dosh Dosh for a long time too. I really do appreciate all the support.

This is a way of saying thanks, by sending you some traffic and visitors. Dosh Dosh gets a decent number of daily visitors and over time, that could translate into a fair amount of traffic and free publicity for you.

To participate in this group discussion, you simply need to address the survey topic by either leaving a comment or writing a blog post.

Everyone who leaves a comment will have their opinion listed within this or a new article itself, with a link to your website (if you have one). If you write a new blog post referencing this article, you’ll get a link to your blog post as well.

I don’t really like deleting external links left by readers, especially when they point to to shady or spam sites so I’m going to institute a no-links policy for comments across the board. Please do not insert any links to any site in your comments. Of course, if you write a blog post, you can link to anything you want, within it.

5. Site URLs. I won’t be linking to poker, porn or pills and any other site which I deem to be really offensive. I would also prefer to not have any affiliate landing pages as well. This isn’t a free for all so do not use unsuitable urls.

6. Don’t Over Promote. It’s perfectly fine to talk about your own experiences or sites but please don’t use this as a chance to sell your services or products. This isn’t really the place for you to do so. Keep your comments on topic and relevant. Excessively promoting your own site will just make you look bad.

I’ll put up the comments as and when I receive them either in this post or a new article. I will probably close this post soon depending on the number of entries received, so that it won’t be too long or difficult to read.

What Should I Do With My Future?

So many ordinary people ask this question. People of all ages, classes, and professions -- from a catfish farmer in Mississippi to a toxic-waste inspector in the oil fields of Texas, from a police officer in East Los Angeles to a long-haul trucker in Pennsylvania, from a financier in Hong Kong to a minister at a church on the Oregon coast. These people don't have any resources or character traits that give them an edge in pursuing their dream. Some have succeeded; many have not. Only two have what accountants call "financial independence." Only two are so smart that they would succeed at anything they chose (though having more choices makes answering The Question that much harder). Only one, to me, is saintly. They're just people who faced up to it, armed with only their weaknesses, equipped with only their fears.

What I learned from them was far more powerful than what I had expected or assumed. The first assumption to get busted was the notion that certain jobs are inherently cool and that others are uncool. That was a big shift for me. Throughout the 1990s, my basic philosophy was this: Work=Boring, but Work+Speed+Risk=Cool. Speed and risk transformed the experience into something so stimulating, so exciting, so intense, that we began to believe that those qualities defined "good work." Now, betrayed by the reality of economic uncertainty and global instability, we're casting about for what really matters when it comes to work.

On my journey, I met people in bureaucratic organizations and bland industries who were absolutely committed to their work. That commitment sustained them through slow stretches and setbacks. They never watched the clock, never dreaded Mondays, never worried about the years passing by. They didn't wonder where they belonged in life. They were phenomenally productive and confident in their value. In places unusual and unexpected, they had found their calling, and those callings were as idiosyncratic as each individual.

And this is where the second big insight came in: Your calling isn't something you inherently "know," some kind of destiny. Far from it. Almost all of the people I interviewed found their calling after great difficulty. They had made mistakes before getting it right. For instance, the catfish farmer used to be an investment banker, the truck driver had been an entertainment lawyer, a chef had been an academic, and the police officer was a Harvard MBA. Everyone discovered latent talents that weren't in their skill sets at age 25.

Most of us don't get epiphanies. We only get a whisper -- a faint urge. That's it. That's the call. It's up to you to do the work of discovery, to connect it to an answer. Of course, there's never a single right answer. At some point, it feels right enough that you choose, and the energy formerly spent casting about is now devoted to making your choice fruitful.

This lesson in late, hard-fought discovery is good news. What it means is that today's confused can be tomorrow's dedicated. The current difficult climate serves as a form of reckoning. The tougher the times, the more clarity you gain about the difference between what really matters and what you only pretend to care about. The funny thing is that most people have good instincts about where they belong but make poor choices and waste productive years on the wrong work. Why we do this cuts to the heart of the question, What should I do with my life? These wrong turns hinge on a small number of basic assumptions that have ruled our working lives, career choices, and ambitions for the better part of two decades. I found hardly any consistencies in how the people I interviewed discovered what they love to do -- the human soul resists taxonomy -- except when it came to four misconceptions (about money, smarts, place, and attitude) that have calcified into hobbling fears. These are stumbling blocks that we need to uproot before we can find our way to where we really belong.

MONEY Doesn't Fund Dreams

Shouldn't I make money first -- to fund my dream? The notion that there's an order to your working life is an almost classic assumption: Pay your dues, and then tend to your dream. I expected to find numerous examples of the truth of this path. But I didn't find any.

Sure, I found tons of rich guys who were now giving a lot away to charity or who had bought an island. I found plenty of people who had found something meaningful and original to do after making their money. But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the garden-variety fantasy: Put your calling in a lockbox, go out and make a ton of money, and then come back to the lockbox to pick up your calling where you left it.

It turns out that having the financial independence to walk away rarely triggers people to do just that. The reality is, making money is such hard work that it changes you. It takes twice as long as anyone plans for. It requires more sacrifices than anyone expects. You become so emotionally invested in that world -- and psychologically adapted to it -- that you don't really want to ditch it.
